Tampa, FL – August, 3rd 2018 – Luna Guitars, most commonly known for producing instruments with creative design, announces its support for the Music Modernization Act (MMA) in effort to stand with fellow songwriters. The decision came based on the fact that songwriters endure the same stress as any one working in the music industry and should be permitted to reap the benefits from songs they contribute too, especially hit songs, streamed on any digital devices in the modern-era.
By speaking in favor of this legislation, this positions the brand to fully support current Luna Artists and Luna Brand Ambassadors such as such as The Warren Brothers, Devon O’Day from WSM Radio, Professor James Elliott of Belmont University and several others. While not always the driving factor, compensation is the key to success of songwriters and artists alike for the work they produce.
“Songwriting in itself is an art form that is evolving with technology and should be rewarded as such,” said Adam Gomes, Director of Marketing & Artist Relations for Luna Guitars. “Veteran songwriters have dealt with certain restrictions for years and we should be welcoming the next generation of writers by offering a brighter future with more incentives.”
With the passing of MMA, many Luna Artists and Brand Ambassadors are both veterans and up-and-coming songwriters that will be able to gain more recognition and accelerate in their careers faster. The extra residual income would help support aspiring musicians to spend more time in the studio and on tour sharing the gift of music to fans.
Currently, the Music Modernization Act is an attempt to overhaul current music copyright law by updating licensing and royalty rules for songwriters and artists. This would essentially open up dialogue between publishers to manage licenses in a more streamlined process. The legislation has passed in the House and heads to the Senate next.
